## Overview

VARCO Sound is a generative sound service from NC AI, the AI company spun out of Korean game publisher NCSOFT. You describe a sound, upload an image, or upload a video, and it analyzes the scene and generates matching sound effects and background music. Results come as separate tracks rather than one mixed file, so you can adjust or replace individual sounds.

The full version launched in September 2026 after a beta that began in January. It added a Sound Agent that runs generation and editing through chat ("make it more metallic"), automatic volume mixing across tracks and clips up to 60 seconds. Besides the browser app there is a Windows/macOS desktop app for dragging sounds into a DAW and a free Unity plugin, listed as a Unity Verified Solution, for generating sounds inside the editor. An MCP server is listed as coming soon.
