Overview
hikomi puts a 3D character on top of your game. Share the game window, turn on Comments, and the character speaks up when something happens, like a boss going down, a death screen or a new area, and checks in every few minutes when nothing does. You control how chatty it is, from every 20 seconds to every 5 minutes, and a Live comments beta glances every few seconds for fast games.
Hold your talk key to ask a question, and it can include a snapshot of your screen and where your mouse is, so you can ask what an item does or which upgrade to pick. Characters have their own voices and remember past conversations, and you can make your own. hikomi says nothing is recorded continuously and each picture is discarded after the reply. The Windows desktop app is the full experience; the Chrome or Edge browser version can watch and comment but has no talk key, and a macOS app is listed as coming soon.
