## Overview

Claude Code is Anthropic's agentic coding tool. It understands your codebase, edits files, runs commands and helps you ship features, working from your terminal, IDE and other surfaces.

Rather than suggesting one line at a time, you describe a task and it plans the change, edits multiple files and runs tests or builds to check its work. For game developers and vibe coders, that makes it useful for larger refactors, tooling scripts and web or engine projects.

## Key features

- Reads and understands an entire codebase
- Edits multiple files and runs shell commands
- Works in the terminal and in IDEs
- Plans changes before making them
- Extensible with plugins, skills and connectors

## Use it for

- Build a small browser game from a description
- Refactor a messy gameplay system across many files
- Write build, asset-pipeline or modding scripts
- Pair it with Universal Modder to mod PC games

## Pricing

Claude Code requires a paid Claude subscription (Pro or Max) or pay-as-you-go API usage; see Anthropic's pricing page for current prices.

## Getting started

Install Claude Code from Anthropic's site and sign in with a Claude account or API key.
